Educational Objectives

This program is aimed to educate the students with all-round development to meet the needs of socialist modernization, to help the students master the basic theory and knowledge of civil engineering, to train the basic quality for civil engineer and cultivate innovative senior engineering and technical personnel. The undergraduates are expected to undertake the design, construction and management of civil engineering, and have the preliminary capacity of carrying on the project planning and scientific research in civil engineering.

Students of this program should acquire the knowledge and abilities as follows: 

(1) The undergraduates are expected to master the solid and comprehensive basic specialized knowledge. It includes the basic theories of mathematics, mechanics, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering and bridge engineering, the professional basic theories of the design, construction and management of civil engineering, hoping that it will help students lay a solid foundation for all the professional directions.

(2) A wide professional area. We design multi-module courses, which include structural engineering, geotechnical engineering and bridge engineering. In this way, the undergraduates are expected to master a broad professional knowledge and have a high employment rates.

(3) We aim to cultivate the students’ strong practical ability, their practical application capacity, the ability of combining theory with practice and solving practical problems.
